What is your average class size?

Preschool classes average 10 to 12 students per class.

Kindergarten classes average 12 to 14 students per class.

1st and 2nd grades average 18 students per class.

3rd through 5th grades average 22 students per class.

Secondary classes have a maximum size of 26 with an average of 21 students per class.

What grade levels do you offer?

3 year old preschool through 12th grade

What are the school hours?

3 year old preschool – 8:30 to 11:30 Tu & Th

4 year old preschool – 8:30 to 11:30 (Mon/Tues/Wed/Th/Fri)

Kindergarten Readiness – 8:10 to 11:50 (Mon/Tues/Wed/Th/Fri)

Kindergarten (1/2 day) – 8:20 to 11:50

Kindergarten (full day) – 8:20 to 3:20

1st through 5th grades – 8:20 to 3:20

6th through 12th grades – 8:00 to 3:20

Do you offer extended care before or after school?

Yes, we offer an After School Care program which runs until 5:30 p.m.  We also offer a Before School Care program from 7:15 to 8:15.   The cost is $5.00 hour/child for children in grades K-5.  It is teacher supervised.

Is Billings Christian School affiliated with one church or denomination?

No. We have families from approximately 40 different Christian churches in the Billings area.

Are you accredited?

Yes.  We are accredited through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and AdvancED.

What is Billings Christian School like?

We can best be described as a community of families. We work together toward the common goal of educating our children in the Light of God’s Word.

What is the size of your school?

We currently have 32 Preschool students and 276 K-12 students.

How does Billings Christian School implement technology in learning?

Billings Christian School embraces technology as in important tool for teaching and learning.  We have provided an instructional computer lab, networked computers in each classroom, a computerized library catalog and library circulation program.  Our elementary classrooms are equipped with IPads.  Our grade reporting and report card generation are computerized and academic data is available to parents via ParentsWeb, an internet portal.

Does Billings Christian School have a hot lunch program?

Billings Christian School provides pizza on Fridays and hot lunches on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Meals are freshly cooked daily.  Pizza is available for $1.25/slice, hot lunch is available for $2.70, milk is available for $.55.  For more information, please contact the school office @ 656-9484.

Do you offer tuition assistance to families?

All of our Tuition Assistance Scholarships are based on financial need and the availability of funds. Application for the grant is made to an independent assessment agency following your application to the school. Awards for qualifying families range from 10-50% of the annual tuition.

What curriculum do you use?

Currently, in the elementary grades we primarily use the ABeka, Bob Jones University, Purposeful Design, and Saxon Math curriculum. In the junior high/high school we use a combination of ABeka, Bob Jones University, Saxon, Purposeful Design and a variety of other curricula. We are continuing to seek the best materials for our students.  Our elementary curriculum also utilizes Step-Up-To-Writing and Accelerated Reader.

What sports programs does Billings Christian School offer?

5th-12th grade students can participate in volleyball (girls), and basketball (boys & girls).  We have soccer for high school boys only.

How can I be involved as a parent?

Our school is always looking for those willing to volunteer their time and efforts. We need chaperones on field trips, help with fundraisers, and workers for special activities. We also are always looking for qualified substitute teachers.

What about field trips?

Teachers plan age-appropriate, curriculum based or community service field trips throughout the school year. Parents are invited to attend the trips as chaperones or just as participants. Teachers will send home trip information and costs prior to the date of the trip.  In addition, 5th through 12th grade are able to participate in ski trips to Red Lodge Mountain.

How is the admission decision made?

Following the receipt of your online application, the complete file will be sent to the Principal’s office.   All 6-12th grade students will need bring a current report card and be interviewed by our Principals & Head of School.  After your application has been reviewed and you have received a tour of our facilities, you will receive an email notifying you of your application status.
